Vervain is the Bach flower for those who are motivated by strong ideals and solid principles of which they are firmly convinced. By nature, Vervain is gifted with a strong will and great courage to defend their ideals. We could say that Passion is their innate resource. However, this attitude originates from an unconscious need to maintain control by imposing one's own point of view as a rigid reference. This can lead the Vervain type to become involuntarily fanatical, to the point of wanting to convert others to their principles.

Vervain therefore invites us to develop the virtue of Moderation, which is the ability to enthusiastically express one's own point of view, letting others do the same and respecting theirs. In fact, what makes Vervain functional is not just passion, but the ability to moderate enthusiasm so that it does not  overpower, but stimulates and engages others.
