Mimulus is the flower for those who feel fears related to everyday life (illness, poverty, pain, darkness, etc.).

The Mimulus type is by nature shy, timid and does not like to talk about their fears. We can say that Safeguard is their innate resource.

In fact, they protect themselves from the source of their fears by avoiding exposing themselves to it or, if practically everything intimidates them, by generally avoiding all social contact. This, however, leads the Mimulus type to shut themselves up in a dysfunctional way even when there is no real danger. On closer inspection, the object of their fears is often more symbolic than real, or it hides memories of family traumas assimilated unconsciously.

Mimulus invites us to develop the virtue of Courage, which means to appeal to one's own capacities to face the challenges of life and to prove to ourselves that certain family memories do not affect us personally. On the other hand, how would it be possible to show courage if we did not first feel fear?
