Elm is the Bach Flower for those who, although generally capable and confident in their own path, are subject to temporary depression or feel overwhelmed by the burden of their duties.

By nature, the Elm type is inclined to measure their abilities and resources against the important project they are working on. We can say that Dimension is their innate resource. This attitude, however, originates from a state of temporary overload which leads them to doubt their own possibilities in relation to the path they have undertaken, to the point of depression.

Elm therefore invites us to develop the virtue of Determination, which is the ability to act without hesitation to fulfil one's role, by giving the right importance to both our own resouces and to the project, and by being aware that it is feasible in any case. In fact, what makes Elm functional is the ability to act with determination, comparing with one’s self above all rather than with temporary personal successes or failures.
