Chicory is the Bach flower for people who take excessive care of their loved ones.

By nature, Chicory is particularly attentive to the needs of others, desires to have loved ones close by and is always happy to find something to fix. We can say that Lovingness is their innate resource. However, this attitude originates from an excessive attachment to loved ones and the need to keep them close at all times. This can lead the Chicory type to become over-possessive, unconsciously developing the expectation of being reciprocated for what they do.

Chicory therefore invites us to develop the virtue of Autonomy, which is the ability to take care of ourselves as we take care of others. In fact, what makes Chicory functional is not just showing affection, but the ability to meet one’s own emotional needs independently of others. In this way, the individual becomes a true reference point, conveing a sense of security and selfless support.
