Perfectionism / Tolerance
"I can capture goodness and beauty in everything and everyone: everything is perfect in its own essence! Every flaw is a different way of perfection!"
Beech is the Bach flower for those who can see the goodness and beauty in their surroundings, even in things that seem wrong.
By nature, the Beech type is gifted with the ability to pick out misplaced details and highlight them to strive for perfection. We can say that Perfectionism is their innate resource. However, this attitude originates from an unconscious desire to hide from everyone, including themselves, what they consider to be their own faults, thus emphasising those of others. This can lead the Beech type to become intolerant and inclement towards others.
Beech therefore invites us to develop the virtue of Tolerance, which is the ability to see in what one considers to be other people’s flaws, the reflection of past sufferings and the subjective inclination towards one's own development and a tendency towards perfection, though never absolute. In fact, what makes Beech functional is not just the hypercritical and meticulous sensibility, but the ability to see what is good, wonderful, and perfect even in the most imperfect of situations.
