Sweet Chestnut is the Bach flower for those who are in the grip of such deep anguish that they feel their body or mind is at the limit of endurance. By nature, Sweet Chestnut is inclined to go through a process of inner transformation. We could say that Metamorphosis is their innate resource. However, this attitude originates from a state of anxiety which, having pushed the individual's physical and mental resources to their limits, forces them to undergo a forced evolution on a spiritual level.

Sweet Chestnut therefore invites us to develop the virtue of Rebirth, that is, the ability to be an active part of this evolutionary process, abandoning one's old self to make room for the new. In fact, what makes Sweet Chestnut truly functional is the ability to regenerate and transfrom by reborning from one’s own ashes like a phoenix.
