Gentian is the Bach Flower for those who are easily discouraged by the slightest hindrance or delay in meeting their expectations.

Gentians are naturally inclined to pause over difficulties, even small ones, and to evaluate their impact on their own improvement or progress. We can say that Think over is their innate resource. However, this attitude originates from a lack of self-esteem and the feeling of not being able to cope with small daily setbacks. This can lead to Gentian type to become easily discouraged and focused on temporary and surmountable obstacles, losing sight of the general tendency to succeed.

Gentian therefore invites us to develop the virtue of Confidence, which is the ability to perceive and value one's own resources, accompanied by a favourable and optimistic attitude. In fact, what makes Gentian functional is not just the recognition of one’s alleged limitations, but the ability to reflect on how to overcome them and to proceed with confidence in one’s project or in the improvement of one’s state of health and well-being.
